Social Impact
The Happy Eddie brand is committed to leveraging its platform to help build a more equitable cannabis industry. Happy Eddie’s social equity programming and education aims to eliminate systematic barriers to entry and provide minority entrepreneurs with meaningful participation, growth, and leadership opportunities in the multibillion-dollar legal cannabis industry.
Our goal is simple – to promote an equitable, collaborative and civically engaged cannabis industry. We aim to focus on the following five areas:
Criminal Justice Reform
We intend to help those impacted most by cannabis criminalization expunge their records through local advocacy efforts.
Promotion of Social Equity
Promoting a diverse cannabis industry in Maryland by supporting brands and dispensaries owned and operated by people of color, as well as the communities in which these businesses serve.
Civic Engagement
Promoting civic participation and engagement by customers in each community where Happy Eddie has a presence.
Hiring and Mentorship
Helping members of underrepresented groups break into the growing Maryland cannabis industry and providing them with the skills, networking and mentorship they need to succeed in this space.
Education
We're on a journey to overcome the stigma and legal barriers that have historically plagued cannabis use, much like the fight against Prohibition in the early 20th century and by doing that we hope to educate the broader community to envision a future where cannabis is fully embraced as a positive force for individual and collective well-being.
